  • Waste Management of Ashland, WI (888-960-0008) handles residential garbage collection in the city.  Garbage must be placed in the designated Waste Management garbage bins which can be requested in the City Clerk’s Office. Garbage pickup is every Thursday and garbage bins must be put out on the curb by 6:00 a.m. that day. Garbage collection is billed quarterly with utility bills. The rate is $7.50 a month and $22.50 a quarter. Additional cans can be requested with the Clerk’s office and the monthly rate is an additional $14.90 a month and $44.70 a quarter.
  • Hurley residents are to use the Iron County Recycling Program. The Hurley site is located on Bernard Street between 3rd and 4th Avenues. The recycling center hours are 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Saturday. Accepted materials include paper (newspapers, magazines, junk mail, phone books), glass, cans, plastics, and cardboard.
