Seasonal All-Night Parking
No parking is allowed on city streets between the hours of 2:00am and 7:00am from winter October 15th to April 30th. Contact the Police Department for more information, (715) 561-3544.
Garbage & Recycling
  • Waste Management of Ashland, WI (888-960-0008) handles residential garbage collection in the city.  Garbage must be placed in the designated Waste Management garbage bins which can be requested in the City Clerk's Office. Garbage pickup is every Thursday and garbage bins must be put out on the curb by 6:00 a.m. that day.
  • Hurley residents are to use the Iron County Recycling Program. The Hurley site is located on Bernard Street between 3rd and 4th Avenues. The recycling center hours are 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Accepted materials include paper (newspapers, magazines, junk mail, phone books), glass, cans, plastics, and cardboard.
Burning Ban
Open burning is prohibited in the City of Hurley without a permit or other authorization from the Fire Chief. All fire permits shall be valid for three days except for recreational burning pits which shall be valid from May 1 through October 31 for the year issued. Fill out an application online or stop at City Hall to complete an application for a recreational burning permit for fire pits.
