The Hurley Police Department is accepting applications to fill a full-time police officer vacancy.
Responsibilities include general law enforcement duties and the enforcement of ordinances and laws with the City of Hurley, the protection of citizens’ rights, welfare and property, and the ability to work with other law enforcement agencies and city departments within the community.
Law Enforcement Academy training is not required to fill this position. Training will be provided by the Hurley Police Department once hired.
Applicants must:
- be a U.S. citizen, 18 years of age or older
- have a high school diploma and at least 60 hours of college credits
- hold a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- have a record clear of any felony or domestic abuse convictions
- be able to possess a firearm
- have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- be able to react quickly and effectively to stressful situations
- have the ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
- be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays
