With the fall election less than six weeks away, the Wisconsin Elections Commission along with election officials warn voters to be cautious of third-party voter registration forms and absentee ballot-style envelopes that may appear in your mailbox.  Unsolicited mailers from various groups shouldn't be trusted.  These mailers often come with various errors about the voting process or the voter themselves, or lead people to mistakenly believe you're not already registered to vote.  

Instead voters should look to the state's official voting website, myvote.wi.gov, or talk to your local clerk for correct information.  Voters who need to register, change their address, or request an absentee ballot should visit the official website, Wisconsin's secure voter services website.

Voters can fill out the registration form online and send it to the correct clerk's office which is provided on the website.  Voters registering by mail must also send a copy of a proof-of-residence document, such as driver's license, utility bill or bank statement with the voter's current address.  Voters only need to re-register if they've changed their name or their address or if it's been more than four years since they last voted.

You can register to vote or amend your voter registration by mail or online through October 14, 2026 or at your local clerk's office through October 30, 2026.
